Job description

We are looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to assemble, maintain and repair machinery and vehicles. Preference given to those who reside in or near Alice, Texas.

Essential Functions:

• Use a wide variety of tools, from hammers and wrenches to blowtorches, forklifts and more. Mechanical aptitude is needed
• Lift heavy objects, physically manipulate objects with tools
• Must be able to follow a problem to the source and solve the issue
• Diagnose and correct electrical/mechanical problems with equipment
• Transport or maneuver equipment as necessary
• Analyze problems to determine all material needed to correct problem and complete corrective task
• Assemble and install equipment, using proper hand tools and power tools
• Work safely at all times, following all applicable safety policies and procedures
• Provide own tools
• Familiar with Dodge, Ford, Chevrolet vehicles
• Must have flexibility with schedule, including but not limited to after hour emergency service calls

Skills

• 2 years of proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic
• Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components
• Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers etc.) and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers)
• Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.
• A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines
• Very good communication skills
• A problem-solving ability
• Very good physical strength and stamina
• High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus
• Class A CDL preferred
