JOB SUMMARY
This job directs operational activities for all assigned DEI program areas, including First Steps and Beyond and other EEHI philanthropic activities. Serves as the coordinator of all needs/services of the program areas with a focus on community engagement in relevant areas (e.g., infant mortality, LGBTQIA, minoritized populations, people with disabilities) and addresses concerns/problems through to resolution. Provides operational leadership and direction to the programs focusing on positively influencing health equity outcomes. Identifies, plans, organizes, communicates, implements and measures activities and strategies to promote growth, clinical excellence, patient satisfaction, enhanced communication, and system success. (This position will be fully funded through grants).
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity. Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
- Provide support for Health Equity Campaign and leadership team by driving and developing community programs related to health disparities (e.g., African American infant mortality rate). Requires a significant amount of influence with key executive leaders within Highmark Health and AHN.
- Directs and oversees operations of programs and events that will directly impact the communities we serve with a specific focus on African American infants and parents for First Steps and Beyond. Responsible for reviewing and approving related activities and budget.
- Responsible for engaging Highmark Health and AHN staff in related initiatives and collaborating with local, regional and national organizations. Engages Highmark Health and AHN management and leadership team to create and implement effective programs and foster community engagement.
- Represents Enterprise Equitable Health Institute's mission and vision in interactions and programs, including boards, commissions, for civic and community boards, community-based organizations, elected officials and other academic institutions.

EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Health Administration, or related field
Substitutions
- 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree
Preferred
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Health Administration, or related field
EXPERIENCE
Required
- 5 years in a Management or Leadership role
- 3 years in Community Affairs, Human Services/Health Insurance/Health Systems or related field
- 3 years in Relationship or Project Management

- 3 years in Business Development
