The Superintendent of Schools announces the following position within the Fall River Public School System:

Position: Director of Campus Services

Job Description: This is an administrative position in the Fall River Public Schools, with district-wide responsibilities to provide clean, aesthetically pleasing, well-manicured grounds at each building. This position will direct services to maintain all natural or artificial turf playing fields to the highest standards. Campus Services will provide safe roadways, sidewalks and parking lots during all seasons. This position reports to the Chief Operations Officer and will manage, supervise and review all Campus Service employees in the department, and will use a combination of internal and contracted resources.

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidates will be evaluated on the aggregate level of experience in specified service delivery areas.
  • Experience working within a collective bargaining environment. (3 years of supervisory experience preferred)
  • High school diploma
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills.
  • Experience and proficiency with business management software, spreadsheets, and applications.
  • Possession of valid, state-issued driver's license.


Performance Responsibilities:

Environmental Services:

  • Develops Campus care plans and implementation at all facilities
  • Coordinates Campus Services workforce
  • Implements protocols for natural and artificial turf assessment, including testing & remediation
  • Implements Integrated turf pest management plans.


Waste Management:

  • Coordinates the disposal of waste, regulated waste, and recyclables in public campus areas.

Professional Development Services for Departmental Staff:

  • Plan and oversee delivery of appropriate trainings for Campus Services Staff
  • Manages documents related to field quality and Campus Service maintenance.
  • Coordinates Safety (OSHA type) training and materials handling training for Campus Services staff.

Quality Assurance:

  • Manages performance evaluations of Campus Services personnel.
  • Inspects and reviews services and work product


Business Administration:

  • Develops bid specifications within regulations for procurement of goods or services as needed.
  • Processes, stores and archives Accounts Payable and Bookkeeping documents for services.
  • Reviews and develops job duties.
  • Is responsible for personnel management, assists with labor relations, and Civil Service compliance.
  • Assists with negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, and implementation of terms as needed.

Budget Development and Prioritization:

  • Plans, manages, and monitors budgeting appropriate inventory levels for supplies and equipment.
  • Advocates for appropriate staffing, positions, and resources
  • Manages and monitors use of overtime as needed, and ensures equitable distribution of overtime as needed.

Capital Planning and Prioritization:

  • Provides oversight and planning for lifecycle replacement of equipment.
  • Identifies and refers necessary repairs or upgrades to the Chief Operations Officer.


The Superintendent of Schools reserves the right to waive a position qualification or determine that there is an acceptable alternative to that qualification. If the Superintendent intends to waive a qualification, such intent will be shared with the Fall River School Committee.

Reports To: Chief Operations Officer or his designee


Supervises:
Campus Services Department Staff

Terms of Employment: Salary and benefits to be negotiated. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be established within an individual contract.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000
