Job description
We are currently seeking a qualified team members for the position of Director of Program Management for Amphenol Borisch Technologies. The Director of Program Management reports to the General Manager and is a key member of the ABT Executive team. The Director leads and provides strategic direction to the Program Management department. The Director of Program Management coaches and manages the Program Managers. In addition, this team member is responsible for leading major projects within the business including new product launches and production setup/transfers. The Director of Program Management works cross-functionally with the Business Development, Engineering and Operations teams to ensure all Programs are executed on time and on budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages and directs the Program Management department
- Trains and coaches Program Managers towards developing a strong team
- Holds Program Managers accountable for program costs, timelines and performance results
- Works with Program Managers to develop program schedules that support commitments to customers and company goals (Milestone Schedules, GANTT charts, etc.)
- Works with Program Managers to create and implement risk mitigation plans
- Assists Program Managers to solve technical and program issues
- Helps Program Managers problem solve customer issues and propose solutions
- Anticipates and helps solve any potential cost or delivery issues
- Reviews all contracts to verify terms and conditions, work statements and scope, performance expectations and deliverables
- Travels to the Nogales, Mexico operation to assist with launch and transfer activities and ensure collaboration between geographic sites
- Develops and implements processes to facilitate smooth program launches
- Ensures major program launches and production remain on time and on budget
- Provides regular status reports to management on product launch progress
- Regularly visits customers to build relationships, facilitate communication and address any issues
- Performs other duties as required by Manager
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline
- MBA Preferred
- Minimum 5 years Project Management experience
- Minimum 5 years Leadership experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project
- Willing to travel (including international) up to 30%
