Description

Position Summary: Develop the leadership skills of all building administrators to be equity driven leaders. Provide central office support and direction to building and central office administrators in all student-related and school operation matters. Essential Functions: 1. Ensure equity practices are embedded in secondary school operations. 2. Serves as mentor, coach, and supervisor/evaluator of secondary principals. 3. Determines and supervises additional administrative assignments for secondary principals. 4. Support new principal orientation and arrange mentoring support. 5. Collaboratively plan principal meetings and professional development as requested for the administrative team. 6. Facilitate monthly Secondary Principal Meetings. 7. Promote the role of principal as instructional leader in assuring curricular and instructional accountability. 8. Assist school building administrators in their efforts to improve individual staff competencies and effective instructional performance. 9. Oversee secondary curriculum, instruction and assessment. 10. Facilitate district’s implementation of decision-making processes at school sites, including budgeting, staffing, guidance to leadership teams, student leadership groups, discipline processes, assessments and other facets of school operations. 11. Assist in the determination of types of programs needed by the schools, make appropriate recommendations, and work with other district departments to facilitate program support. 12. Coordinate and oversee grading, reporting, and record keeping in Infinite Campus and Canvas. 13. Oversee Academic and Career Planning (ACP) including dual credit programs: UW-Oshkosh, CAPP, Early College Credit Program and Start College Now (formerly known as Youth Options), FVTC, and Advanced Placement. 14. Supervise and evaluate coordinators: secondary math and literacy, and Career and Technical Education through development of best practices and utilization of the district evaluation model. 15. Oversee grade 6-12 instructional materials that align to Board approved academic standards, and grade level outcomes; and ensure alignment to Wisconsin State Standards and DPI endorsed supporting frameworks 16. Supervise assigned administrative staff through development of best practices and with the utilization of the district evaluation model. 17. Administer employee performance evaluation/growth processes for professional and support staff in accordance with board policy, state law and district procedures. 18. Work cooperatively with leaders of other administrative divisions (operations, special education & pupil services) in integrating and coordinating individual efforts into a unified program for the district. Other Responsibilities: 1. Attend board meetings, and attend and preside over such other meetings as the superintendent designates. 2. Prepare and submit reports and other documents as required by the superintendent and the board. 3. Coordinates timely response to federal and state reports. 4. Keep abreast of developments and innovations in the field of education by reading current literature, attending professional society and association meetings and conferences, and discussing developments and problems of mutual interest with others in the field. 5. All other duties as assigned. Required Education, Experience, and Skills: 1. Masters degree from an accredited university. 2. Three years of administrative experience. 3. Five years of successful classroom teaching experience. 4. Current State of Wisconsin Director of Instruction license [Wisconsin Code 10 License as defined in DPI 3.24(3)] or ability to immediately obtain such certification. 5. Demonstrated expertise in research based “best” instructional practices in one or more of the core content areas (reading, language arts, mathematics, science and social studies). 6. Demonstrated expertise in strategies for differentiating classroom instruction in the regular classroom to meet the diverse learning needs of all students including students designated GT, ELL and Special Education. 7. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum design, development, and implementation. 8. Demonstrated expertise in the identification of and education of students identified as gifted and/or talented. 9. Successful experience meeting the instructional needs of diverse learners at the secondary level. 10. Demonstrated expertise in the strategies, processes, implementation and facilitation of educator professional development. 11. Demonstrated expertise in design of assessments and effective implementation with experience at the secondary level.. 12. Strong and effective leadership skills. Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills: 1. District-wide leadership experience preferred. 2. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate or acceptable.
