Transit Management of Ada County is seeking motivated, dependable individuals for our Dispatch Supervisor position. The Dispatch Supervisor is a key player in the daily operations of the city bus transit system.

Job Summary

Provide both field and office supervision of the daily operations of fixed-line, demand-response and special movement transit services in order to ensure efficient, accessible, and safe bus and van transport services to customers in the Regional Transit Area (Ada County). Develop, present, and evaluate driver, safety, and/or operational programs.

Essential Duties

Dispatch and supervise transit operators both on the road and in the office.

  • Maintain daily records of operator activities, service needs and performance issues.
  • Respond to accidents and other service interruptions. Complete the appropriate reports and documentation.
  • Assist Operations Manager with personnel issues.
  • Enforce compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules and governmental regulations.
  • Responsible for transfer and audit of GFI data and revenue and ridership data.
  • Document customer service desk complaints and respond accordingly to department manager.
  • Responsible for developing and directing training of new Operators, as well as retraining as necessary.

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or minimum two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work shifts are 4:00am - 12:pm or 12:00pm to 10:30pm

Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Possess, or have the ability to obtain, Class B CDL with airbrake and passenger endorsements. Satisfactorily pass an annual DOT physical examination showing capability to perform essential duties. Satisfactorily pass a drug test as requested. This position is subject to the successful completion of a criminal background check.
