Eagle Deliveries Logistics Inc is an Amazon Delivery Service Partner (DSP) looking for enthusiastic, team players to deliver Amazon packages. DSPs are independent businesses that partner with Amazon to deliver packages. Our Dispatcher plays an essential role in acting as the liaision between drivers and station management. They are first to arrive and last to depart.

Schedule

  • Dispatch starts at 8:30am and ends when all the drivers are back.

Dispatcher Basic Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the U.S
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Successfully pass BGC and pre-employment drug test

Dispatcher Duties and Responsibilities

  • Dispatchers must work on scheduling drivers to ensure that there is adequate coverage for the next morning. The schedule must reflect adequate coverage on the road.
  • Dispatchers must command the daily “load-out” process to ensure that all Delivery Associates can locate and load their assigned packages, and start delivery in a timely manner.
  • The dispatcher is responsible for making changes to assigned routes in a timely manner and communicating via text and email to the other managers on duty, and to Delivery Associates whose routes are changed.
  • Dispatchers must keep their email open to ensure that they receive critical pieces of communication, such as Delivery Associate route assignments for the day, that come through from station management in the morning. OTR leadership will send daily updates, HR related updates, and general communication in an Email related format as well, over the course of the day.
  • The dispatcher is responsible for having the Dispatch phone on their person at all times and answering all incoming calls with a high sense of urgency, documenting issues when necessary and communicating to the Operations Manager as needed.
  • Dispatchers must proactively maintain communication with station management throughout the day, to stay on top of any delays that may arise, as well as any potential unforeseen issues that could hinder Delivery Associate progress during their routes.
  • The dispatcher needs to know the drivers / helpers scheduled for their portion of the week and have ownership of the progression of the team. They should monitor Delivery Associate performance and assist with coaching or initial training of Delivery Associates.
  • Dispatchers should work with management, to understand which vehicles that should and should not be going on the road. While also knowing where vehicles are in the repair process/preventative maintenance process.
  • The Dispatcher is expected to assist “On-Boarding” newly hired drivers and have a working knowledge of the Amazon portal to troubleshoot potential issues.
  • The Dispatcher is expected to keep accurate clock in/out records for the drivers they have on the road.
  • The Dispatcher is required to jump on a route in the case of a call out or a driver doesnt show up.
  • The Dispatcher is expected to make sure the end of night inspection process takes place. This includes: Organization of Gas records, Inspection sheets are filled out, trucks and vans are parked in the correct spot, and the vans do not have bags or trash inside.
  • The Dispatcher is expected to make sure the correct van count is ready for the next delivery day to ensure we have enough vans as well as ordering rental trucks for the week if needed**

Physical Activities·

  • Dispatchers work from a defined work area that includes desk, file cabinets, equipment cages, and dry erase boards.
  • The dispatcher will be sitting the majority of the time.
  • Standing and walking are required typically during participation of the morning loadout or if there is a need to take a route do call outs.
  • During the morning load out the dispatcher will write the morning load schedule on the dry erase board, issue keys, phones, and information bags for each vehicle.
  • In the evening dispatcher is required to place the phones on chargers in the equipment cages and collect the vehicle information bags and place them in the equipment cages.
