We are looking for a Distribution Warehouse Manager to join our Lakeland, Florida-based team!
Distribution Center Manager
Overview
We are seeking an energetic team member for the position of Distribution Center Manager reporting to a Regional Manager who reports to the Vice President of Operations. The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for providing leadership to individual contributors and the hourly workforce to ensure the execution of daily tasks and activities including timely, accurate product receipt, order fulfillment, and the organization of resources and processes. Manage processes to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, continual process improvement, and drive associate initiatives to create and promote engagement among team members. Involved in the interviewing, training, and coaching process. Consult with the Regional Manager on operational goals and the need for additional headcount, overtime, or equipment to meet the established goals. Also act as the overall facility manager responsible for all maintenance and grounds related issues. Our ideal candidate would meet the following criteria:
Management
- Manage the safety and compliance of employees, equipment, and building
- Perform daily safety and building inspections (OSHA Guidelines)
- Perform daily equipment inspections
- Check the safety of all loads before they leave the facility
- Promote a positive team environment and increase employee engagement
- Partner with Human Resources on the recruiting of open positions and onboarding of new employees
- Communicate job expectations and ensure adherence to company-developed SOP’s and compliance with company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Evaluate associate performance, provide initiative-taking performance feedback, and prepare performance appraisals for associates within assigned functions.
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance markers and provide counseling to include recognition and/or corrective action to associates as needed.
- Manage time, attendance, and schedules (schedule updates, PTO, Sick, etc.) for assigned functional area(s).
- Monitor and approve associate time sheets prior to the payroll close period.
- Partner with Human Resources to address and resolve associate concerns.
- Consult, coordinate, and partner with other functional areas for maximum performance.
- Ability to be "hands-on" as needed to assist with various warehouse responsibilities.
Transportation Function Responsibilities
- Plans and leads transportation activities to ensure efficient delivery and operation of company vehicles, adherence to DOT regulations, and timely and accurate delivery of products to improve service to internal and external customers.
- Reviews and implements work methods and procedures to increase productivity and achieve effective routing using various monitoring systems such as On-Demand/Descartes.
- Ensures compliance with pre-trip vehicle inspections, and standard procedures when arriving, unloading/loading departing, and obtaining payments when delivering products at customer locations.
- Collaborates with service providers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of delivery vehicles responsible for the maintenance of all company vehicles.
- Provides guidance and follow-up as it pertains to the Department of Transportation.
- Champions the safe working conditions, and safe driving procedures of drivers and monitors employees to ensure the safe operation of equipment within the distribution center.
Inventory
- Execute all floor-related actions in inventory control SOPs
- Monitor the loading and unloading of all materials
- Execute Cycle Counts
- Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

- Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
Experience
- Previous direct management experience, preferably in a distribution center setting with knowledge of receipt, storage, or distribution of supplies. 2+ years (Required)
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and have experience with inventory control and transportation systems.
- Current or prior Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) holder a plus.
