High-end dog boarding and training facility on the upper south hill seeking a lead trainer for our training program.

JOB DUTIES Training:

  • Board and train**: meeting with clients to discuss needs and expectations for each dog, create a training protocol that fits each dog’s needs, provide accurate notes and material for client to use, sending report cards and keeping in touch with client during the duration of their dog’s stay, following up their stay with the included private training. * Private training: either done in home or in facility, meeting with clients to discuss needs and expectations for each dog, create a training protocol that fits each dog’s needs, provide accurate notes and appropriate material for clients to use, keeping in contact with client for updates and scheduling. Responding to leads in a timely manner and scheduling appointments.*

Dog handling: Monitoring play groups for good and bad behaviors and being able to appropriately handle situations of both kinds using LIMA protocols. Moving dogs from one area to another efficiently and safely. Feeding/medicating dogs accurately. Performing any services we provide for the dogs (bathing, play, cuddle times, etc.) Keeping track of belongings and labeling things appropriately. Monitoring dogs for health and well being, being in contact with clients about any updates to the health of their dog. Cleaning up after them immediately when messes are made. Evaluating new dogs for approved boarding services. Troubleshoot behavioral problems for boarding dogs (i.e., boredom, anxiety) Transportation of dogs to/from the vet if needed. Cleaning: Attention to detail with general cleaning. Cleaning rooms after dogs leave. Daily and weekly cleaning protocols. Seasonal duties such as weeding and shoveling snow.

Job qualifications: Group dog handling and prior professional training experience a must. At least 2 years of positive based dog training experience needed. CPDT certification is preferred but not required. Exceptional customer service skills (phone and in person). Able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 per hour
