Lehrman Community Day School is a pluralistic Jewish Day School located in Miami Beach, FL, just south of the Bal Harbour, Bay Harbor, and Surfside communities. Lehrman Community Day School was founded in 1960 by Rabbi Irving Lehrman and is the only pluralistic Jewish day school in Miami Beach. Our school is open to children from preschool through the fifth grade, committed to academic excellence and Jewish values in a caring and nurturing Jewish environment. Now in our second half century, Lehrman has educated generations of Jewish children; many of our current students are the children of alumni, an endorsement of the school and its dedicated and talented teachers.
Job Description
We have an opening for an Early Childhood teaching assistant. S/he will be responsible for overseeing a class of 18 month-2 year old children, supporting curriculum, comfort with on the floor play, overseeing their health and wellness needs and keeping in close communication with parents. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Required Qualifications:
- Support the children’s natural curiosity and creativity.
- Hold a degree (associates, bachelors or masters) in Early Childhood Education or a related field or an Early Childhood Equivalent Degree.
- Have excellent writing and communication skills.
- Collaborate with teachers to create an engaging environment and implement curriculum.
- Appreciate being a part of an innovative community, sharing and learning from other professionals.
- Ability to be an active participant in the care and safety of young children, including lifting and attending to their personal care.
- Familiarity with lesson plans and creating provocations for learning
- Good classroom management skills and the ability to multitask
- Good organizational skills and be reliable
- Complete carpool duties
- Exemplary work ethic
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28,000.00 - $31,000.00 per year
