Job Summary:
The Georgia Department of Education- Internal Technology is recruiting for an experienced Education Program Specialist 1-Technology Specialist. Under supervision, the successful incumbent will learn to monitor, evaluate and supervise programs of educational institutions, school districts or other providers to ensure compliance with program regulations and standards. The job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Description of Duties:
- Advise program participants on eligibility, standards and improvements
- Advise teaching and administrative staff in curriculum development, use of materials and equipment, and implementation of state and federal programs and procedures
- Assist in formulation and implementation of program policies and procedures
- Coordinate curriculum review, evaluation and acquisition
- Coordinate the activities of special task forces, study committees, or other designated groups
- Coordinate the development and implementation of curriculum
- Develop classroom-based and/or distance learning training courses, using needs assessments and skill level analyses
- Develop tests, questionnaires, and procedures that measure the effectiveness of curricula and determine the effectiveness of the program objectives
- Facilitate development, implementation, and evaluation of statewide program models
- Provide advice and technical assistance in program development
- Provide ongoing assistance to agencies in developing and implementing their strategic plans
- Research, evaluate, and prepare recommendations on curricula, instructional methods, and materials
- Responds to requests for information related to improvement
- Updates the content of educational programs to ensure that training equipment and processes are technologically current
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in teaching or in education technology
- Concrete demonstration of creative and strategic problem-solving
- Experience delivering professional learning experiences.
- Experience with virtual or digital teaching and learning
- Excellent organizational skills
**This is a remote telework position based in downtown Atlanta.
