Team Impact

In this position, you will be an important member of the quality team. This team plays a crucial operational role within the organization by identifying data errors through generating reports, running manual audits, tracking/trending data, developing of action plans, and initiation of educational needs for various Revenue Cycle Departments. These departments include that of Patient Access, Health Information Management (HIM), and Patient Financial Services.

The Quality team provides a detailed and consistent feedback to personnel regarding individual performance (explanation of errors) as well as provides further education and/or educational tools to colleagues as necessary in collaboration with department Managers for appropriate area/staff accountability. As the Patient Registration Educator, you will play a vital role in the performance management/training of new hires for patient registration. Some highlights about this opportunity include:

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential

Responsibilities

  • Provide communication to Patient Access management regarding registration accuracy for the correction of Pre-Billing Errors, Pre-Certification, and identification of insurance issues as they arise
  • Participate in the analysis of denials and provide appropriate feedback, education and training to HIM, and various departments throughout the hospital and/or clinics Provide patient focused care and service within a dynamic, supportive environment
  • Report collected data from productivity statistics and accuracy feedback regarding individual colleague performance to Patient Financial Services.

Qualifications/Experience

Education/Accredited Programs

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent required
  • Successful completion of an AAS in health administration, business, finance, or related field preferred

Experience/Abilities

  • Three years of Revenue Cycle experience required
  • Knowledge of insurance, coding, billing required
  • Knowledge of standard health care reporting measures required
