Job Description
Position Summary:
Designs electrical machine circuitry complete with schematics, bill of materials, panel layouts, etc. Selects components, generates part numbers, and prepares specifications on these for purchase. Advises and recommends changes in components or circuitry on systems during build or for field service problems. Electrical engineers participate in control system development for new product offerings and software and screen editing to suit retrofit requirements on all existing control systems as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Designs electrical systems or subsystems for machines and accessories.
· Prepares schematics, wiring diagrams and panel layouts.
· Selects components suitable for each function.
· Designs enclosures, panels and component mounting devices.
· Prepares complete bill of materials with specifications cooperates with purchasing on selection of vendor, especially as to substitution of components.
· Reviews cost of components to ensure most economical design and component selection.
· Ensures completion of assigned projects within allotted time limits.
2. Provides technical expertise to manufacturing personnel during build and start-up to diagnose circuit problems, component failures, and software issues, and to correct same. This may occasionally require time on the assembly floor to provide hands-on assistance.
3. Advises service in resolution of field problems and follows through on these solutions to ensure that necessary changes to drawings, bill of materials, etc. are incorporated on these and future machine retrofits. Occasional travel may be required to support service department on field installations.
4. Ability to plan changes and diagnose problems directly from S/W, or with on-line diagnostics
5. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Minimum of three (3) years design experience in machine tool circuitry or machine control systems or completion of an approved Co-op program preferred.
- Knowledge of safety circuits
- Knowledge of analog control signals
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Candidate should be able to work confidently under pressure without direct supervision.
- Good communication skills– both written and verbal.
Work Environment:
Office / Manufacturing environment. Employee may be occasionally exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, risk of shock and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes, welding, machining, painting etc.
Travel / Customer Support. Employee might be expected to perform customer support and guidance at their locations. Aside from technical capability, the employee must have interpersonal skills commensurate with expectations for a field service technician who also promotes product sales and further services.
This is an office-based position that requires walking, sitting, standing, bending, driving, reading, seeing, hearing, speaking, concentrating, and communicating.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
