What You'll Do

This Position requires demonstrated analytical skills; supporting self-assessments, audits, critiques and CA/MPs; performing analysis to determine causal factors of events; analyzing complex issues, identifying problems and developing workable solutions to project management issues; working with DOE Occurrence Reporting System (ORPS) and Plant information systems (TOPIC, E-STARS and PER) to communicate investigations; Understanding of the significance of work-as-planned vs. work-as-done, systemic vs. single point failures, programmatic breakdowns; A broad knowledge of Engineering processes, responsibilities and interactions; Demonstrated understanding of conducting Extent of Condition reviews and Corrective Action Plan development; demonstrated computer skills and knowledge of software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, Visio, MS Access and Crystal Reports; Ability to present information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word and ability to lead and assist others in assigned responsibilities. Must be able to interact with management both internal and external personnel on matters often requiring coordination between departments and/or organizations. Skilled in the ability to analyze a process or system; demonstrated written and oral communication skills; demonstrated experience working in cooperative efforts with other organizations and individuals to effect successful completion of job assignments and the Plant mission.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related discipline from an accredited program
  • Master’s degree in a technical or business-related discipline from an accredited program
  • 8 or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting
    • A combination relevant education, training, and/or progressive experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years of experience requirements for this posting.
  • In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science, 2 years job-related and at least 1 year nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative). DOE 426.2 experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities.   • Must be able to facilitate others for problem analysis, resolution and corrective action plans.
  • The position requires the ability to present information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word and utilize automated workflow systems.
  • Must be able to coordinate verification and validation of documents with technical and operations personnel prior to release for approval and implementation.
  • The position requires the ability to develop and maintain historical information.
  • The position requires the ability to prepare, interpret, maintain, and incorporate requirements of Procedures, DOE Orders, Work Instructions and applicable documentation.
  • Utilize Issues Management Tools and Techniques.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
