Engineering Document Control Specialist
Job description
The Engineer Document Controls Specialist will manage the document management system and will be responsible for bringing the engineering library from hard paper copies to electronic form. All electronic files must be organized within the clients file management system.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and manage document control measures for contract/project documents l, and storage of quality documents and records.
- Maintain both electronic and hard-copy documents and files.
- Maintain efficient administrative processes and record-keeping, ensuring an accurate history of design and/or construction documents.
- Ensure document control activities such as document management, version control and distribution management are executed in a timely fashion and in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Administrative support of team members as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong experience in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) software.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree or equivalent years' experience
- Experience with document management collaboration software; experience with e-Builder is preferred.
- Detail-oriented: Must be well organized and detailed focused
- Independent: Must be self-motived with ability to perform with little direction or supervision
- Dependable: Must be able to work beyond normal schedule when needed, is a true team player, and possesses a high degree of professionalism and discretion.
- 5+ years' of document control experience in Architectural, Construction, Engineering (AEC) industry or similar capacity.
- Experience with PM/CM Owner's Representative firms a plus.
- CADD or Revit experience a plus
- Engineering background a plus
Work Environment:
- The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving machinery & mechanical parts, uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to loud noise, and outside weather conditions. This is inside work not related
Physical Requirements:
- The physical requirements must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Intermittent unassisted sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stooping, crawling, pushing and lifting is required. Must be able to walk and/or stand for prolong periods of time for at least eight hours per day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move light equipment up to 50 pounds without assistance. Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, ability to walk on uneven ground while physically maneuvering construction sites, ability to work in extreme temperatures or humidity, and potentially work at heights.
Other Requirements:
- Possession of a valid state of residence driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Daily travel to and from construction sites, generally within 100 miles from the home office is expected. Short term, out of town, assignments may be required. Long term, out of town, assignments may be required, with advance notice of planned dates.
- May be required to work protracted and irregular hours to meet client's needs, including nights, overtime and weekends
COVID-19 considerations:
The position requires daily on-site work in an occupied field office and active construction job site alongside others. Compliance with COVID protection protocols, if they are reimplemented by the client, is required.
