A Brief Overview
The Equipment Logistics Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing all arrangements for and ensures the timely, safe, and cost-effective the receipt, storage, delivery, and installation of all medical and other equipment and furnishings acquired for facilities being constructed or renovated by Planning, Design & Construction. The Equipment Logistics Coordinator must be able to coordinate with construction managers, suppliers/vendors, the warehouse, and others to troubleshoot bottlenecks and resolve problems encountered at each stage of the coordination process. For example: schedule changes, long equipment lead times, installation delays/problems, user requests/changes, etc. The Equipment Logistics Coordinator has contact with vendors to coordinate the timing and location of equipment deliveries, users to discuss the location of equipment placement, project management staff to coordinate project schedules and equipment requests/changes, warehouse personnel to coordinate delivery requirements and crews, and hospital departments, such as Property Services and Biomed, to discuss specific equipment coordination requirements.

What you will do
  • Develops an equipment installation schedule for each project. Reviews planned and non-planned work activities to ensure timely delivery and availability of materials and equipment, including contingency planning. Prioritizes and calendarize responsibilities and tasks to ensure timely and satisfactory completion.
  • Expedites equipment purchase orders.
  • Maintains an equipment database, ensuring that full and accurate specifications are included, and prepares periodic status reports.
  • Coordinates timely delivery and installation requirements with the supplier and project manager ensuring compliance with all safety requirements and procedures.
  • Provides instructions to the warehouse upon receipt of equipment.
  • Arranges for delivery of equipment to the project site in accordance with the project schedule.
  • Coordinates receipt of equipment at the project site with the contractor, biomed or project manager (as predetermined).
  • Directs the installation of owner-furnished equipment (whether installed by owner or vendor).
  • Prepares a punch list after final installation.
  • Provides procurement/acquisition support to the Manager-Equipment Acquisition.
  • Performs other related and incidental duties as needed or required.

Education Qualifications
  • Associate of Arts Degree in construction management or a closely related field from an accredited college or university

Experience Qualifications
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
  • An additional one (1) year of experience in equipment logistics coordination or construction management may be substituted for the A.A. Degree

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of:
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of personal computers and the Microsoft Office Suite of applications as well as the ability to quickly learn and become proficient in the use of Attainia (equipment planning database), Proliance (PD&C financial system software), Lawson, (SHC purchase order system software), and PeopleSoft (LPCH purchase order system software)
  • Knowledge of medical equipment, instruments, and related functionalities
  • Ability to:
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge and understanding of business operations, processes and procedures for relevant hospital departments
  • Ability to maintain accurate and complete records and documentation
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work, resolve scheduling conflicts, improvise and adjust to rapidly changing conditions, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service and collaboration with various stakeholders
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with widely diverse groups, including individuals at all levels both within and outside the organization and gain their cooperation
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $34.60 - $44.97 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
