EVS Technician- Oswego Hospital

The Environmental Services Technician will clean patient rooms, surgical units, administrative offices and restrooms several times a day. They will have knowledge of infection prevention practices and adhere to policies and established evidence based procedures.

Also polish furniture, vacuum carpets, and perform floor care as assigned. They will be trained on equipment in regards to floor care maintenance (auto scrubber, burnisher, stripping and waxing floors) as needed. Trash and linen delivery and pick up. Hazardous waste removal, specific training will be provided for staff assigned to this task. The Environmental Service technician need the ability to perform general EVS tasks, such as cleaning the rooms, hallways, offices and public areas, emptying trash, changing linens and making beds. They need to know how to dust and polish furniture and use vacuum cleaners and floor maintenance equipment. Ability to lift 50lbs. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent customer service skills.

High School diploma or GED preferred. Knowledge of the importance of infection prevention practices in a healthcare setting. Strong organizational skills. Ability to be a strong member of a team.
