Kirby Electric Inc. is seeking an Experience Fire Alarm Estimator, Knowledge in telecom/data, security, access control, or CCTV Systems a big plus! The ideal applicant is detail oriented, has previous experience with leadership/responsibility, skilled with advance planning, a compelling personality with excellent people skills who will be responsive to GC’s and project stakeholders. Kirby Electric is a Design/Build commercial electrical contractor, which offers Fire Alarm Estimators the opportunity to extensively understand electrical systems in detail and be engaged during the whole process. Estimating is a demanding role that offers great opportunity for relationship building with customers through estimating, design, development, and construction of a project. In addition, establishing relationships with coworkers, vendors, and others in the industry will require Estimators to participate in networking, sponsored outings, and hosted company events to continue to build a responsive team that consistently meets customer expectations.

Accountabilities:
- Prepare and review submittals
- Produce cost estimates for Fire Alarm systems based on drawings/schematics and/or detailed descriptions of scope. Plans and Spec as well as Design Build. Accubid knowledge preferred.
- Develop initial budgets with no engineering drawings or specifications.
- Evaluate costs and constructability issues in estimates.
- Develop requests for proposals for potential subcontractors and vendors.
- Perform subcontractor and vendor estimate reviews for scope accuracy and cost.
- Discuss and meet with subcontractors, vendors, architects, customers, and management on project/system information.
- Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, FP) and applications as related to LV systems required.
- Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
- Participate in Job Turnover Meetings
- Client Appreciation/Meetings
Qualifications:
- NICET III minimum
- NICET IV certification preferred.
- Experience with low volt systems and multi-family/mixed use projects preferred.
- Proven ability to manage difficult conversations, negotiate, and create wins.
- Working knowledge of electrical and HVAC systems.
- Familiar with Construction Software and Microsoft Software.
- Competent with considerable workload, fast pace, and deadlines.
