FEED SALES & NUTRITION SPECIALIST

Position Overview:

The Feed Sales and Nutrition Specialist is a sales position that will report directly to the VP of Animal Nutrition. This person will be involved in developing a customer list in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin to focus on beef, dairy, and lifestyle animal production and feed sales. This person will be responsible for selling feed and all related products in a manner that will optimize Pearl City Elevator’s market share and savings, improve efficiency, and help achieve personal and company goals.

Duties Include:

• Customer service – greet and assist customers and assist in managing customer communications
• Conduct approximately 30 on-farm calls per week
• Interact with customers in all weather conditions at producers’ facilities for evaluation
• Grow the business and increase market share in beef, dairy, and lifestyle/livestock animals
• Assist in organizing customer meetings to help build market share
• Network at industry functions to build additional business and relationships
• Strong public speaking skills
• Strong understanding of animal husbandry, current management practices, and nutritional guidelines
• Self-motivated
• Provide leadership in a team environment
• Provide tracking reports on marketing and service activities as management requires and maintains

Basic Qualifications:

• Strong customer service, oral, and written communication, and organizational skills
• Minimum of one to five years’ experience in feed sales, livestock nutrition, and marketing
• Candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 55 pounds
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving history/record
• Experience with software tools: EFC Systems (Merchant Ag), Microsoft Office, Online Apps, Nutritional Balancing Software (Dalex, AMTS, etc)
