We are looking for a Financial Controller to lead the US Accounting and Reporting functions in a fast pace and changing environment.

You will lead the local Entity Accounting teams based in different US locations and Moscow which manage over 20 entities, comprising the US business operations of Vista Global with revenues in excess of $1bn with significant growth plans.

These teams are responsible for the entity accounting and reporting which form part of Group’s quarterly and annual consolidated IFRS financial statements for external reporting and more regular management reporting.

Your Responsibilities

  • Owning the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting calendar, ensuring proper communication of responsibilities and deadlines throughout the teams and rigorously managing various team leaders to ensure consistent, timely, accurate and relevant reporting;
  • Lead a multi-location accounting and reporting team that includes setting objectives, coaching, developing and performance management;
  • Liaising with external auditors to manage and co-ordinate the audit/interim review of the Group’s financial statements to PCAOB standards;
  • Taking an active part in the Group Reporting Team leadership, liaising with your peer, the International Financial Controller and coordinating with the Group Financial Reporting Director;
  • Working with the Financial Planning & Analysis and Corporate Finance teams to ensure a full understanding of the US financials;
  • Coordination with the Group Technical Accounting team on technical accounting matters as they arise and preparation of supporting documentation;
  • Working with other group teams to manage any developments in IFRS and ensure the group is consistently up to date in its accounting policies and adoption of such standards;
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of the Group Accounting manual, documenting and enforcing group accounting policies and supporting accounting treatments through the preparation of associated memos for the purposes of the audit;
  • Ensuring that the knowledge and experience required to carry out the respective functions is adequately represented across the team to minimize dependency on individual team members and ensure continuity in the performance of the designated activities;
  • Lead the introduction of any new acquisitions into the reporting process;
  • Preparing ad hoc reports on matters relevant to the business as may be required from time to time by the Group CFO’s or other members of the Executive Committee;
  • Driving a change agenda and continuous improvement initiatives to standardize and improve processes, reporting and controls, and implement best practice;
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction in all/any aspects of the respective functions that impact the Group’s customers.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to lead multiple global teams to deliver against tight reporting deadlines;
  • Team player who can operate globally, cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization, taking ownership and demonstrating initiative;
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment;
  • Large, multi-entity and multi-currency consolidation experience;
  • Strong understanding of IFRS reporting requirements and interpretation of new standards;
  • Possess an inquisitive and analytical mindset and be able to understand the commercial and operational side of the business and relate it to the financial performance and metrics that are being reported;
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with ability to manage own workload in a pressurized environment and work to tight deadlines;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership;
  • Should demonstrate values, skills and behaviours that are consistent with Vista Global’s core values;
  • Experience working with ERP financial systems, SAP ERP desirable but not essential.
