Position Description - Assist with the supervision and coordination of all activities included in the operation of the Dietary department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB:

• Acts as assistant to Dietary Supervisor/Registered Dietitian or the Food Service Director with the supervision of the dietary staff in order to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, department policies, procedures and completion of assigned duties.
• Assists the Dietary Supervisor or the Food Service Director with development, implementation and maintenance of quality assurance program for the Dietary Department.
• Assists in establishing food service production guidelines and maintains proper production processes.
• Inspect tray line assuring meals meet quality, taste, texture, attractiveness and temperature.
• Presents in-service training as needed and may provide input into the evaluation of employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma plus Food Handler Certification or ServSafe Certification and knowledge of HACCP standards.
• 1-2 years work experience in food preparation environment, preferably in nursing home or health care institution.
