Job Title: Accounting Assistant – Full Charge bookkeeper
Job Description
This position requires a fast pace and professional Bookkeeper candidate who will be responsible for transactions posting, GL maintenance and reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts and the analysis of financial records including the monthly preparation of journal entries to properly state the financial results in accordance with GAAP.
OVERVIEW
As a Bookkeper, you are entrusted with the responsibility of carrying out your daily tasks and assigned duties. This candidate is expected to be self-motivated, engaged, opened to learning new methods, flexible and detailed oriented. The primary purpose of your job position is to maintain & manage the general ledger for all entities as it relates to transactions posting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
JOB DUTIES
1. Setting up clients and Creating client accounts.
2. Gather supporting documentation such as downloading bank statements into accounting software and saving then in files on weekly and monthly basis
3. Post transactions in client QuickBooks online or desktop on weekly and monthly basis
4. Keep accurate record in posting
5. Responsible for assigned clients’ monthly account closing process and creating final financial packages for them.
6. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and follow-up on identified variances
7. In charge of assigned client’s payroll processing, monthly and quarterly tax payments and filing requirements
8. Participate in year-end tasks and clients’ audits requests
9. Must be able and willing to communicate with clients professionally via email or phone
10. Experience doing individual and business taxes will be preferred
11. Creating client folder, filing and organizing client documents electronically and in filing cabinet
12. Scanning clients’ documents into electronic file and shredding documents
13. Other duties and special projects as assigned (included but not limited: Mail birthday and seasonal card to clients, monitor and post content on social media
REQUIREMENTS
· QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop experience is required
· Strong attention to detail, engaged, self-motivated and flexible
· Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and duties with competing priorities
· Excellent organizational and communication skills
· Intermediate computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
· Exposure with any tax software and tax tasks is a plus
Education
Associates Degree in Accounting or a business degree with a major in accounting preferred
Experience
Three (3) years of Professional Accounting experience. Transactions posting and reconciliation experience preferred.
