Capital Paving and Construction is looking for motivated laborers to work at our highway, bridge, and earthwork projects in Central Arkansas. To be successful in this position, candidates possess the ability to:

• Maintain good attitudes and focused on performing tasks safely
• Follow directions of a supervisor for daily tasks, requirements, and expectations
• Use a variety of hand and power tools such as jackhammers, demo saws, chain saws, concrete saws, shovels, rakes & pumps
• Load and unload materials, machinery, and tools
• Signal equipment operators in moving equipment or materials
• Perform hand digging, shoveling, raking, and other heavy manual labor to assist in laying pipe and road building activities
• Assist in placement & maintenance of traffic control devices such as signs, barricades, cones, and drums
• Participate in traffic control flagging operations
• May operate heavy equipment and vehicles
• Clean and organize jobsites, tools, and equipment
• Assist in minor maintenance of equipment

You must have the following:

• Prior construction experience is preferred.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel with some overnights possible.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions including hot and cold temperatures and humidity.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used on construction projects.
• Ability to properly follow company policies and OSHA/MSHA requirements for safe working procedures and environments.
• Willingness to undergo a background check, physical, drug, and alcohol testing.
