A
General Maintenance Engineer (Hotel Maintenance) will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, pool maintenance, pool pump room, guest request, and front of the house areas. Guest room and public area entry-level preventative maintenance are included. A General Maintenance Engineer will also perform some repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment, requiring some skills and experience in these areas, as well as good communication skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the Guest Rooms Preventive Maintenance Program.
- Respond or perform duties of a groundskeeper, handle and double-check guest requests in a
- courteous, efficient, safe manner.
- Maintain proper records of the Rooms Preventive Maintenance Program and the Second Request Program.
- Complete work order request forms on a daily and timely basis.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain all mechanical areas in an orderly and clean condition.
- Inspect all public areas daily for burnt light bulbs.
- Participate in the hotel fire brigade.
- Maintain department pass-on log book as required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Education: High school diploma, technical/vocational school preferred.
- Experience: Hotel experience preferred, but not required.
- Skills and Abilities:
- General knowledge of technical fields, i.e.., carpentry, painting, electrical, etc.
- Requires excellent communication skills, a professional presentation, and the ability to work in a team atmosphere, and to make independent decisions.
- May require the ability to drive a pick-up truck.
- May require knowledge of Kemper Insurance Red Tag System.

Travel required: Limited, local travel to the parts store.
Hours Required: AM / PM Position. Flexible Hours
