Job description

The Oahe Zap are a summer collegiate wood bat baseball team located in Pierre, South Dakota.

Our inaugural season starts in May of 2023 and we are looking for a driven, personable individual with an electric personality to the lead the charge and make our first season a success.

This individual will perform the following duties:

• Selling advertising and ticket packages through phone calls, emails, and face-to-face meetings (People want to get to know you in our town!).
• Striking trade deals with local establishments for accommodations for both the home team and away team during the season, such as meals and lodging.
• Brainstorming ideas for promotional nights and giveaways to execute throughout the season.
• Coordinating host families for the Zap players, coaches, and interns for the season.
• Assistance in hiring interns and gameday staff for the upcoming season.
• Managing gameday operations on gamedays throughout the season, including setup, teardown, overseeing concessions and merchandise operations, and media relations.
• Managing the fan experience during the game, including coordinating promotions and in-game entertainment, mingling with fans, and checking in with businesses sponsoring promotions.
• Scheduling community events throughout the year and bringing our mascot and appropriate literature to those events.
• Being the face of the Oahe Zap throughout the community and setting a high standard for our organization.
• Assist in making the Oahe Zap experience one of the best in summer collegiate baseball.
• Coordination of transportation for team road trips.
• Other duties as assigned.

The candidate we are looking for should meet the following requirements:

• At least three years on experience in sport marketing/management or a related field
• A passion for making a brand the best it can be in all aspects.
• A passion for sports and running an organzation.
• A willingness to sell advertising and ticket packages as a top priority
• A degree in sport management, marketing, or a related field
• A drive to be the best
• The ability to have fun and create a positive culture that employees, players, coaches, and fans want to be a part of
• Willingness to share a vision with ownership to make the Zap a great community partner and the best entertainment option in the area.
