TITLE: Group Leaders/GL Trainees for MPS Rangers Club Summer Program(Gr. K-8)
Summer Prog. days/hours: varies between M-F, 7:00am-5:00pm; Planned 7-week program - June 26 - August 11. Additional hours for orientation, planning, and as needed by the Program Coordinators, Program Manager, and/or the Director of Community Programs may be required; Hours not to exceed 29 hours/week on average.
DATE OF OPENING: Immediately After 2022-2023 MPS School Year
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required; Trainees must be at least high school juniors or seniors
- Prior experience as RC or out-of-school-time group leader or staff preferred
- Excellent organizational and record keeping skills, and attendance record
- Successful experience working collaboratively with others, preferably educators
- Successful experience working with K-8 students
- Ability to have a flexible schedule; must be available through end of program/summer
- Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for some of the above qualifications; must have positive attitude
- CPR/First Aid preferred
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist coordinators in all aspects of the program for K-8 students, e.g., development of program curriculum, handling supplies and materials, cleaning-up, etc.
- Lead summer prog. activities through end of summer program, as directed & scheduled by coords.
- Responsible for students at Cedardale Groveland and other field trips, if scheduled
- Assist with food program and parent drop-offs & pick-ups
- Attend professional workshops & training sessions, & must fulfill job commitment, as rqd. by prog.
- Meet with the coordinators to discuss program/student issues
- Maintain communications with coordinators; excellent attendance required
- Assist coordinators in keeping required records and reports accurately and in a timely manner
- Participate in planning meetings and submit notes of each to coordinators
- Perform other duties as required by Program Coordinator, Asst. Coordinators, or the Program Manager and Director of Community Programs
SALARY: $15 - $20/hr. depending upon education & experience
