Wage Range: $15.50 - $16.50/hour

General Statement of Duties : This position is responsible for assisting and providing support to the Custodial Leader by scheduling and managing the custodial crew. This includes assigning duties and instructing new workers in the proper use of equipment and materials, and performs custodial tasks to ensure a clean facility for the public to achieve a high standard of cleanliness.

- Creates job tasks and schedules.
- Assigns tasks evenly and appropriately among crewmembers.
- Conducts building inspections to ensure a high standard of cleanliness.
- Promptly advises Custodial leader of any safety concerns or issues.
- Gives general supervision by assigning tasks and reviewing work of the custodial crew.
- Trains new crewmembers in the proper use of equipment and materials. Demonstrates proper application of chemicals and breakdown of equipment.
- Monitors and maintains proper time clock sage for individual staff members.
- Maintains adequate stock of supplies by stocking and keeping inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment and then making recommendations to Custodial Leader for purchases.
- Maintains inventory of custodial supplies.
- Maintains positive public relations with departments by responding to specific cleaning work orders and urgent custodial needs.
- Monitors exterior areas by assisting with trash debris pick-up and changing trash liners frequently. This also including inspecting porta-potties making sure they are cleaned, stocked, and organized.
- Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and replenishes supplies; cleans spills; cleans drinking fountains, mirrors, tables, walls, fixtures, blinds, light fixtures, etc.
- Washes windows, walls, metal and woodwork.
- Inspects and maintains assigned custodial equipment and small tools for proper operating condition.
- Conducts basic security functions to lock/unlock and inspect facilities as needed.
- Provides record of use to supervisor. Keeps records of work completed.
- Maintains current skills and knowledge of building maintenance and custodial procedures
- Conducts set up and breakdown procedures as directed for meetings and events.
- May serve on various employee committees, as required and assigned.
- At least two (2) years of experience as a custodian.
- One (1) year of supervisory experience is preferred.
- The possession or the ability to obtain a valid driver’s license.
- The possession of or ability to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid Certificate.
