Summary of Duties:
Under general direction of the Director of Dining Services, plans, develops, evaluates, and implements programs and services that meet the nutritional and dietary needs of the student and campus populations. Provides leadership and direction to the Culinary Team in terms of nutrition, menu design and nutritional quality. Works in conjunction with all Managers in Dining Services, ensures quality control and sanitary production of menu items. Serves as resource for students and on-campus departments requesting collaboration. Maintains nutrition database in CBORD Food Service Suite (FSS), analyzes recipes, and provides nutrition information to Dining Services guests. Provides ongoing training, education and evaluation of employee performance in regards to nutritional and allergen information. Provides one-on-one information to our guests in regards to their nutrition. Keeps accurate and confidential information as specified by law and state regulations. Supports all units in providing nutritional information for display. Works with Student Affairs Marketing and Communications and Administrative Services Information Systems to accomplish this task. Contributes to a positive, productive, and harmonious work environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with major in Dietetics, Foods & Nutrition or Food Service Administration; Completion of Dietetic Association approved dietetic education program; Registered Dietitian status OR eligible for registration at the time of hire and pass the registration examination within one year of date of hire; OR equivalent education/experience.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Food Handler's Permit within 14 days of employment.
- Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Commission on Dietetic Registration Registered Dietitian (RD) certification.
- Experience in nutrition, dietetics, or related field in a higher education setting.
- Experience developing menus.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience with one-on-one nutritional assessment and counseling.
- Experience providing nutritional information for students.

Monthly Salary:
Range 52, $4,324.00 $5,813.00 (Steps A - M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 OR applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
