Shifts; Rotating

The MT is responsible for performing basic nursing tasks with the Hopkins Elder Plus (HEP) participants. Works under the supervision of a licensed nurse and provides basic bedside nursing tasks in a clinical area. This will include vital signs, some personal care, ambulation assistance, assisting with meal services, and ensuring the well-being and safety of the HEP participants. Also, administers medications according to specified physician orders and in conformance with established procedures for Medication Technicians. In addition, the Medication Technician participates in interdisciplinary team conferences.

Requirements: the skills to read and understand instructions, add, and subtract numbers, and make comparisons between numbers and letters. The ability to understand and respond to simple written or verbal instructions. Must respond appropriately to instructions, questions, or requests for information. Courteous with patients and/or visitors. Must have a personal vehicle for making home care visits.

Qualifications:

  • Current Maryland CNA certification
  • CPR certification - AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED required

Work Experience:

  • Previous PCT Experience Preferred
