Job description
The Hospitality Manager is responsible for ensuring excellence in the guest experience at Native Sun, including overseeing the front-of-house staff and day-to-day sales and marketing operations. The Hospitality Manager is also responsible for upholding the mission and values of the company and ensuring that their team always delivers excellent guest service and hospitality to all Native Sun visitors.
The main responsibilities of the Hospitality Manager include overseeing staff who interact with, educate, and advise store guests face‐to‐face and by phone; ensuring presentability, merchandising and marketing standards are upheld, managing and reporting on guest engagement programs, record‐keeping; interacting with local service providers; and helping to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming facility inside and out. This role is also responsible for scheduling, assigning, and overseeing the day‐to‐day duties of the front-of-house retail staff.
Primary responsibilities
- Own the guest experience, ensuring all visitors to Native Sun experience the best we have to offer
- Develop and maintain a positive and friendly store vibe and culture amongst all front-of-house retail staff.
- Responsible for all presentability guidelines for the store including organization and execution of cleaning, merchandising, Native Sun signature scent and visual marketing objectives.
- Drive guest retention, engagement and brand evangelism programs and metrics.
- Responsible for sharing social media content with the Marketing department.
- Perform quality controls and monitor store and position Key Performance Indicators.
- Recruit, train and supervise front of house staff.
- Approaches difficult conversations with employees and uses diplomacy in human resources issues; requests guidance from General Manager and Senior Management when handling delicate employee relations situation
- Ensure that front-of-house operations are performed in accordance with company values and compliance standards in an appropriate and cost-effective way.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase the quality of guest experience.
- Consistently model professionalism; serve as a role model to retail staff during periods of high stress and ambiguity.
- Evaluates dispensary processes with senior management to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Report all incidents and complaints to the executive team.
- Ensure accurate and complete data collection and reporting for supervised activities.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment inside and outside the facility.Monitoring overall store cleanliness including restrooms, office, and sales floor.
- Have a high attention to detail and regularly reviews facility needs and communicates them to the appropriate parties.
- Acts as a role model for our Mission and Core Values.
- Computer & equipment operations necessary for running an office/retail center (POS systems; Word; Excel; office equipment such as copiers/telephone systems).
- Accurately use Point of Sale, Inventory Tracking, Seed-To-Sale, Google Sheets and other retail software systems.
- Outstanding phone, email, and in‐person guest service skills/etiquette.
- Ability to communicate clearly and calmly in a positive manner.
- Demonstrate proactivity, flexibility, adaptability, and multi‐tasking.
- Ensure the use of internal communication tools to promote transparent and sufficient intercompany communication.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and a high level of ethical conduct; absolute reliability and integrity.
- Skilled in visual and verbal guest presentations, merchandising and interactions.
- Ability to effectively plan and prioritize with focus and attention to detail.
- Works with the marketing department to execute objectives.
- Support vendors with store pop-ups and initiatives.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Responsible for working in admissions, fulfillment and inventory when assigned.
- Cross training is a requirement.

Job Requirements and Preferences
- 4+ years’ experience in a fast‐paced client‐service intensive industry – hospitality and retail background preferred.
- Previous cannabis experience preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in guest service
- 2+ years’ experience managing people.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 years post‐secondary education in a related field preferred
- Extended time standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
