SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Housing, this position is responsible for assisting the Director of Housing in supervising the day to day operations of the Tribal Housing programs and services. This position is also responsible for assisting the Director of Housing in maintaining and enforcing Housing Program regulations.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collect rent payments, maintain rent registers and collect delinquent accounts.
- Assist with developing and coordinate resident activities.
- Maintain accurate and complete files.
- Perform inspections as needed.
- Pick up incoming mail and ensure coding is correct.
- Prepare check requests and purchase orders for approval.
- Refer residents to other Tribal services as appropriate.
- Assist in the termination and eviction process.
- Assist with delivery of required notices to residents within regulatory guidelines.
- Prepare housing unit inspection forms and necessary documents for occupancy.
- Assist residents with maintenance questions, request submissions, and concerns; assist with scheduling of maintenance.
- Assist tenants on move-in process.
- Perform general office duties, such as: data entry, filing, copying and shredding.
- Assist tenants with document collection process.
- Maintain appearance standards as outlined in CTCLUSI policies.
- Interact with Tribal members and the general public in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Other duties as directed by management.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to walk, talk, hear, use hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- May be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 40 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.

Experience and Skills:
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 25 years of age per vehicle use policy.
- Valid driver’s license and adequate transportation.
- Requires High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must have equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above described duties.
- Working knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher.
- Ability to research topics for presentation and provide written documents relative to research.
- This position requires the ability to work well and communicate effectively with Tribal Members and members of other Tribes and the general public. Excellent oral and written communication skills for a variety of audiences are essential to the position.
- Must be willing to complete National Incident Management System (NIMS) training for NIMS certification as arranged by the Tribes.
- Position serves CTCLUSI Tribal members statewide in Oregon and potentially Nationwide depending on program, but office and department is located in Coos Bay, Oregon.
- Must possess reasonable ability to communicate in English.
- This position is subject to pre-employment drug testing.
- This is a covered position which requires background check that includes fingerprinting.
- Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Indian preference will be observed in the hiring process.
