JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: HR Generalist
Location: 589 Rockaway Ave; Brooklyn, NY 11212
Department: Administrative
Direct Supervisor: HR Director
Salary: $60-65,000/ year
Supervision: None
Status: Non-Union, Non-Exempt
Overview:
Maintains office services by organizing office operations and procedures, controlling correspondence, maintaining inventory, approving supply requisitions, and assigning and monitoring clerical functions.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage weekly schedules for all departments
- Process bi-weekly payroll
- Oversee Time & Attendance for company and contracted employees
- Maintain, track, and review compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments
- Provide support in recruitment and onboarding of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications
- Assist Director of HR in implementing new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
- Manage and maintain company’s ID/ Access System
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Director of HR
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS
- Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
