Summary of job content:HR Generalist will support the administration and execution of Human Resources functions such as communication, coaching, employee relations, recruiting, compensation analysis, employee benefits, employee development and compliance initiatives. This role will provide HR generalist (day to day) support achievement of facility goals, targets and objectives. Administer union/labor and employee relations in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
- Manage recruiting process for all positions in the facility. This includes meeting with hiring supervisors and managers to develop a recruiting strategy, utilization of appropriate recruiting sources, interviewing, reference checks and scheduling pre-employment drug screens and physicals
- Maintain the HRIS data (SAP/Success Factors)
- Perform On-Boarding process
- Managing all union interactions including but not limited to Collective Bargaining Agreement administration, job bids, compensation, grievances, contract negotiation and labor charges
- Manage development, implementation and compliance review for HR policies and procedures.
- Manage leaves of absences (PPL, FMLA, STD, LTD, Military LOA, etc.) maintaining compliance to applicable labor laws.
- Resolves day-to-day benefit, employee relations, and other HR Administrative tasks either directly or through advice to line management
- Maintain personnel files
- Responds to site HR regarding a variety of employee issues. This may include questions surrounding events, the benefits programs and procedures.
- Performs other duties as required that are in support of the department’s goals
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required and/or combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the human resources field with a minimum of 5 years prior manufacturing HR experience preferred.
- Understanding of CA state and federal labor law.
- At least 2 years of experience in union/labor relations including compliance with NLRB regulations and collective bargaining agreement.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
- Knowledge of SAP/Success Factors or other HRIS system preferred.
- Critical skills: employee relations/customer service, oral and written communication, detail-oriented, problem-solving, follow-up, self-starting capabilities, planning and organizing, multi-tasking, and the ability to maintain highly confidential information in a professional manner.
This position works in both an office environment and a noisy plant environment. The employee will regularly be working near moving mechanical parts and high temperature equipment and may on occasion be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, heat or dangerous chemicals.
