Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The HR Student Assistant will work closely with the Human Resources Manager in the Business Support Services unit at the Division of Information Technology to provide administrative support. Duties include, but are not limited to: reorganizing and maintaining of paper and digital employee files; uploading digital files; assisting with dissemination and organizing of the UMD/UHR Service Awards and DIT Staff Awards; updating standard forms; tracking outstanding forms or responses, and assist the department with specialized projects at the direction of the HR Manager. Will perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
  • Must be a registered and enrolled University of Maryland, College Park Undergraduate or Graduate Student.
Experience:
  • Basic Google app (i.e. Sheets, Docs, Slides, and/or Forms) experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Willing to work as part of a team or independently.
  • Demonstrates the drive to take on a variety of tasks and projects.
  • Approachable and personable demeanor when interacting with all levels of staff in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to maintain and file confidential records.
  • Ability to confidentiality handle highly sensitive information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
