Job description
Based out of the Atlanta Regional Support Center, the Human Resources Generalist oversees the administration of all policies relating to all phases of Human Resources and supports 400 field personnel between Georgia and Florida. This individual carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies, applicable laws, and activities, such as employment, training, employee relations, and communications for the branch location by performing the following duties:
PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT
- Plans, schedules, and conducts new employee training and orientation for branch and field personnel. Assists in administering on-the-job, in-service, refresher, and remedial training as required.
- Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment with the Director of Human Resources.
- Oversees employee engagement activities such as employee appreciation events, performance, and tenure recognition.
- Provides coaching and conducts regularly scheduled meetings with the branch’s Human Resources personnel to exchange information and provide ongoing support and problem solution.
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues; drafts counseling documents and participates in disciplinary procedures.
- Responds to inquiries regarding personnel policies, procedures, and programs.
- Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Represents the organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
- Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism, promote retention, and lower turnover.
- Communicates regularly with the Vice President and General Manager on all branch-related matters that may affect day-to-day operations.
COMPLIANCE
- Ensures compliance with state (GA & FL) and federal regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Participates in company Quality Assurance initiatives, including record-keeping, training, and auditing.
- Keeps records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, separations/terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
- Records and tracks EEO data relative to new employee applicant flow data; Maintains new applications as specified by the EEO Administrator.

The Ideal Candidate
If you are an experienced, proven Human Resources professional who is passionate and ready to take on the challenge of leading in a complex, diverse, people-first culture, then you have what it takes to be a successful Human Resources Generalist. Job requirements include:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of human resources management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.- Membership in the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Human Resource Information Software (HRIS), workforce management technology, MS Office, internet programs, order processing systems, and Security Management System (SMS).
- Up to 20 percent travel.
