WorkLB is an award-winning program from City of Long Beach. We aim to match anyone needing work to earn locally, build a track record and progress.
Current opportunity with WorkLB:
Caregiving (part-time with more emphasis on flexibility)
Provide caregiving to seniors and children/adults with special needs in their home. You will be tasked with proving personal care in the client's home. Locations include Long Beach and the surrounding cities.
Payrates:
$15.00 working with seniors
$16.15 working with children/adults with special needs
Examples of duties:
- Personal care
- House cleaning
- Meal preparation
- Medication distribution

The WorkLB platform lets you decide how far you will travel from home to work, how much notice you need of assignments and any minimum shift length. It can progressively add new skills, certification and types of work to your resume. The program is run by Pacific Gateway, the public workforce agency for Long Beach and surrounding areas.
Everyone working through WorkLB is a W-2 employee with protections, benefits and a Long Beach based work advisor. It can help you towards regular hours of work, if that's what you need, or hours that change day-to-day depending on your availability.
