Job Description: The Mold Maker is responsible for repairing and maintaining plastic injection molds, fixtures and other mechanical equipment in a timely and proficient manner.

  • Responsible for all cleanliness and organization of the area.
  • Ability to analyze and repair all aspects of a simple to moderately complex tool in collaboration with other departments and Tooling Supervisor and Engineers
  • Performs preventative maintenance service on tooling to assure their continued performance in the production of customer’s parts
  • Operates maintenance and repair equipment (including, but not limited to, overhead cranes and mold cart) needed to transport, disassemble, repair and assemble tooling
  • Work with plant Operations and Engineering to determine mold repairs required
  • Work with Plant Operations and Engineering to troubleshoot injection molding process and tooling issues
  • Repair injection molds by fabricating and machining inserts, pins and other mold components
  • Disassemble and reassemble molds as required for troubleshooting, modifications or repairs.
  • Set up and operate machine shop equipment, including milling, lathes and surface grinders
  • Repairs and fabricates various items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment
