About Us

Güd Gardens is an expanding recreational cannabis producer in Grants Pass, Oregon. We are currently seeking IPM Technician to assist our Cultivation team in the execution of our wide variety of cultivation projects. This includes outdoor, indoor, and greenhouse growing, propagation through harvest.

With five Tier II OLCC Licensed farms in operation, Güd Garden’s current focus is full-sun flower cultivation in native soil with organic methodology. Our harvesting techniques include both dry flower and fresh frozen for live resin extraction.

In addition, we have indoor and greenhouse facilities to maintain our expanding genetic library and produce high quality indoor flower, as well as to support specific extraction projects. Our focus as industry leaders is to optimize large scale cultivation, maintain healthy methodology, and to inspire the future of cannabis culture.

As our company evolves, we have need for an additional strong cannabis cultivator to join our family.

Position Scope

IPM and Soil Health Specialist

Job Description

Wage Range Potential: $21 - $24/hour

Position Scope: This position retains responsibilities of general plant care but takes on a focused approach to the IPM practices and soil health for all garden spaces. It also places focus on implementing organic garden practices with the intention to improve our sustainable farming practices.

IPM Specialist Responsibilities:

· Monitor all growscapes for pest and pathology – indoor, outdoor, greenhouse, nursery, veg spaces.

· Master all pest survey practices – microscopy and visual surveys

o Mite surveys – stereoscope

o Insect surveys – visual survey

o Fungal issue detection – plant behavior and water application history

o Virus and viroid detection/ CDS detection – visual survey, submitting tests strategically

· Develop understanding of economic thresholds for each pest in each grow space

· Report pest management needs to appropriate site Manager for scheduling

· Follow up on pest management efforts to ensure they’re effective. Create plan if pests persist.

· Place orders for beneficial insects for all sites

· Research pesticide products and obtain those of interest – set up test experiments

· Develop product rotation schedules to prevent resistance

· Taking notes on IPM practices and observations

Soil Health Specialist Responsibilities:

· Specialize in soil health for all sites

o Taking soil samples in spring

o Determining need and sourcing compost and other soil building amendments

o Considering weed management and mulch options/ pricing and ordering mulch.

o Considering and implementing companion planting

o Scheduling tills

o Research organic farming practices and work with management to apply them.

o Compile notes on soil and plant performance in order to refine organic methods and optimize economic efficiency.
