We are looking for a future caregiver to take on the role as an International Compliance Program Director within our world-class team of caregivers. Within this role, you will provide guidance and direction to Cleveland Clinic’s international locations with respect to implementing the Clinic’s Corporate Compliance and Ethics Program. Serves as an internal subject matter expert on international compliance. Coordinates with other subject matters in the Compliance Office, Law Department, and other departments as appropriate to identify and mitigate compliance risks in Cleveland Clinic’s international locations.

Responsibilities:
- Conducts research on laws and regulations that apply to Cleveland Clinic's international clinical and business operations, with a focus on privacy and data protection laws, anti-trust/competition, anti-corruption, export control, scientific exchange and medical education activities.
- Reviews proposed and final government rules and regulations to identify areas that present potential impact to Cleveland Clinic. Recognizes cross-jurisdictional compliance issues and recommends strategies for mitigating risk.
- Provides legislative and regulatory updates, as appropriate.
- Collaborates with Corporate Compliance senior leadership to ensure that policies, procedures, auditing, monitoring and training programs are established and effectively implemented as necessary to comply with applicable laws and regulations in Cleveland Clinic's international locations.
- Collaborates with internal subject matter experts to achieve integration of expertise, efficiencies and best practices.
- Participates in reporting and other administrative functions.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Juris Doctorate or Master’s degree in business or health care related field preferred.
Certifications:
- None required.
Complexity of Work:
- Ability to research and assimilate complex laws and regulations into health care operations.
- In-depth understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, GDPR, and FCPA.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of multinational compliance experience, preferably in relation to the health care industry.
- Experience in global compliance programs, specifically related to information privacy (e.g., GDPR) and anti-corruption programs strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Airline travel within and outside of the United States is required. This position requires travel within and outside of the country. Must be able to travel by car and airline, with or without accommodation.
- Requires frequent sitting, computer entry and normal or corrected vision with manual dexterity sufficient to perform work on a personal computer.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
