Mandarin Interpreter

Job Description:

Immigration law firm in Flushing, New York, we are a busy, well established law firm. We are looking for an experienced bilingual Mandarin/English speaking Interpreter to assist our law firm.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Be able to translate from Mandarin Chinese to English and vice versa on the spot

· Translating original Mandarin Chinese materials and rewriting it in English, ensuring that the meaning of the source text is retainer.

· Proofreading and editing final translated versions.

· Providing interpretation via telephone and direct oral translation between attorneys and clients.

Qualifications and Skills:

· Bachelor’s degree required;

· 1+ year of experience in Interpreting is preferred

· Ability to demonstrate attention to detail

· Detail-oriented, self-starter with the ability to multi-task,

· Work independently, and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment

· Fluency in English and Chinese (Mandarin) and be able to read, write, type and speak

· Excellent bilingual verbal communication skills between clients and attorneys

· Have work authorization in United States

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
