We are currently looking for an IT Specialist to join our Information Technology team! This individual will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and monitoring of the bank’s computer and related systems, as well as diagnosing hardware and software faults and solving technical and applications problems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Installs, configures, upgrades, and maintains computer hardware operating systems and applications.
- Takes phone calls from employees with IT hardware and software problems; works with employees to resolve issues or refers to the responsible department/vendor as appropriate.
- Troubleshoots system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
- Maintains network and supporting hardware/software components as directed.
- Performs user training, testing and documentation.
- Performs the in-house production and distribution process.
- Notifies the Network Administrator with changes to the hardware and software inventory databases.
- Coordinates implementation and deployment of hardware, software, and operating system upgrades independently.
- Evaluates and diagnoses hardware and software failures, contacts appropriate in-house or outside vendor resources for repair or replacement; tracks outstanding service and maintenance requests.
- Plans and conducts PC hardware preventative maintenance.
- Performs scheduled daily batch/reporting processes and basic report process failure troubleshooting; reports irrecoverable failures to the IT Systems Manager.
- Maintains the bank’s phone system, including deploying, maintaining, and replacing phone sets; moving extensions; setting up and troubleshooting hunt groups, voicemail, and other phone system features.
- Performs backup processes, including preparing backup media for off-site storage; responsible for restoring data from backup as directed.
- Supports the bank’s network of ATMs, including opening trouble tickets with the service provider as required.
- Provides procedural documentation for processes developed or maintained.
- Responds promptly to user questions or problems; resolves or refers as appropriate. Prepares and updates user training documentation, as necessary.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; and establishing industry certifications.
- Evaluates system potential by testing compatibility of new applications with existing systems.
- Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping sensitive information confidential.
- Maintains familiarity with relevant bank procedures (e.g., the Systems Access Rules & Guidelines); provides direction to system users as appropriate.
- Sets priorities appropriately based on the bank’s business model, mission, and vision.
- Creates and updates electronic service tickets, documenting all correspondence, work performed, reference resources, and resolution procedures.
- Keeps the Systems Manager and Senior Technology Officer apprised of status of projects and ongoing issues.
- Acts as backup to Network Administrator.
- Travels to different sites to provide support.
- Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Completion of 2 years of college or technical school with course works in a field relevant to this position or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills.
- A working knowledge of network and computer systems, techniques, and administration.
- General knowledge of banking systems, operations, and relevant regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communicative skills, written and oral, which allow effective interaction with all levels of bank personnel and management.
- Ability to manage activities and establish goals and objectives; to devise solutions to administrative and technical problems; to develop policies and procedures.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
- Preferred Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, ITIL Foundations
- May be required to install cabling, entailing working on ladders or installing/moving hardware, requiring lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds.
Wage Range: $65,797 – $82,307
