Overview:
CableCom is in search of an IT Support Technician to be part of a diverse team which resolves IT related issues for multiple office locations in Bay Area and across the Western region of the US. This position will be based in Benicia, California. This person will be responsible for a vast spectrum of tasks supporting daily operations of hardware, network, applications, database imports/exports and other user requests. A proactive demeanor with excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills is desired.


Responsibilities:

  • Resolve Help Desk issues for the Benicia office and other locations as needed.
  • Utilize basic network troubleshooting procedures.
  • Configure and maintain desktops, laptops, tablets, and peripherals such as printers, scanners, and monitors
  • Assist end users with the functional operation of company provided hardware and software.
  • Install new or upgraded software and conduct testing on new or current software.
  • Perform data migration to new machines and remove old equipment.
  • Provide remote support and on-call duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Driver’s License with good driving record.
  • Ability to travel around the Bay Area locations and other CableCom facilities as needed.
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking required.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7-10, Word and Excel.
  • Internet, networking and system configuration basic troubleshooting knowledge.
  • The ability to learn, install, configure, use, and teach standard PC applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and any others widely used within the company.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and follow-up on work assignments.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and drive to learn new technology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to preserve confidentiality.
  • Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively in a tightly knit professional team environment.
  • Highly flexible, adaptable, and able to deal with uncertainty in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a people person with strong ability to resolve both technical and non-technical problems.
  • Frequent lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers, printers, network gear. Bending, crouching, standing, sitting, walking and movement required to support hardware and network install.
  • Able to perform the physical tasks required in this position for the entire assigned shift.
  • Sitting - approximately 4 to 6 hours daily.
  • Keyboard/mouse usage - approximately 4 to 6 hours daily.
  • Standing - less than 2 hours daily.
  • Walking - approximately 1 to 2 hours daily.
  • Bending/Twisting - less than 1 hour daily.
  • Lifting (weights up to 40 lbs.) - rarely.
  • Lift & Carry (weights of 25 lbs) - occasionally.
