Kilwins Chocolates, Fudge & Ice Cream in Franklin works to create simply the best confectionery and ice cream experience our customers will ever enjoy. Our store is casual, but we do expect professionalism, punctuality, and an outgoing personality. In harmony with our core values and culture, the Kitchen Manager provides exceptional product, hospitality and sales of product under the leadership and direction of the General Manager and Store Owners. They should also work in tandem with the Team Manager to advance initiatives to increase sales and regulate costs of the restaurant in order to run a successful business.Because chocolate and ice cream cravings do not follow a typical 9-5 schedule, availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required. Hours range from 40-50 per week.
The Kitchen Manager is accountable for the daily production of fudge, corns, brittles, caramel and chocolate dipped items. The Kitchen Manager will create par levels for Made-In-Store products, forecast MIS sales, create and execute preparation plans for busy seasons, and place routine orders for ingredients with vendors such as Sysco and Kilwins Quality Confections. The Kitchen Manager will coordinate with the General Manager to provide exceptional product and service for our guests. This includes meeting or exceeding our established standards for product quality, customer satisfaction and Cost of Goods. You must lead by example by taking a proactive position to all issues concerning product standards, service standards, and standards of operation. Even though it is not your main duty, you will be cross trained to function in the counter and sales area and may work in a leadership role in the sales area from time to time. You may be assigned additional duties as needed. A majority of time is spent working in the kitchen on Made-In-Store production and supervising and directing the workforce. Flexibility, strong communication skills, leadership, and the desire to provide an excellent experience for customers is crucial to success in this position.

When Ashley Clark was 22-years old, she was living at home, with her parents and her degree from Clemson University, working a job she’d had since she was 15-years old. Counting the number of times he’d been to a Kilwins on one hand, her dad made a suggestion out of the blue: “Have you ever thought about owning a Kilwins Franchise?”
That was October 2012. Kilwins in Greenville, SC, opened September 2013, on North Main Street. For the next five years, Ashley and her husband Landon worked together to build a successful business with the mission of creating enjoyment and making people happy. They thought they were getting into the ice cream business, but what they soon realized was that they were in the people business. In 2018, Ashley was selected as the South Carolina Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
In spring 2019, Landon and Ashley expanded to a second location with the purchase of an existing Kilwins store in Highlands, NC, which first opened in 1995. In fall 2020, Landon and Ashley expanded, again, with a third location with the opening of Kilwins in Brevard, NC and in summer 2021 they expanded, again, with the purchase of the existing Kilwins in downtown Franklin, TN. Most recently, in January 2022, the purchased their fifth Kilwins in Hendersonville, NC
Landon and Ashley love building relationships with their team. They teach their team to show up on time, deliver on promises, and be better communicators.
