St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking a Housekeeper for the Kress Inn, its all suite, luxury hotel. This position is responsible for providing a very high level of quality of cleaning/sanitation services and guest services.
Specific responsibilities:
Clean, dust, vacuum, empty garbage; strip and make beds; refill room supplies; sanitize bathroom surfaces; wipe walls, mop floors; restock towels and special bathroom amenities of hotel rooms. - 80%
Provide preventive housekeeping and maintenance, as well as regularly perform deep cleaning projects in all areas of the facility. - 15%

Restock supply areas and restock inventory. - 2%

Clean, dust, sweep, empty garbage, and wipe surfaces of public areas such as: the lobby, conference rooms, hallways, vending, vestibule, front desk, offices, storage, stairwells and fitness room. - 3%
Perform additional duties as assigned and attend College required training. Regular attendance is required. Work in a manner that is aware of personal safety and the safety of others and observes safety, health and sanitation codes, regulations, or practices required by the College or governmental authority.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Education -
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience and Credentials -
  • 1 year experience in hotel/motel, corporate office, or educational facility cleaning.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment or commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -
  • Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers, particularly in conflict situations.
  • Ability to communicate politely and resolve customer service issues..
  • Ability to communicate with guests.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and decisions in an expeditious manner.
  • Skilled at setting a good example for others.
  • Ability to work independently and with team members.
  • Knowledge of special cleaning chemicals and ability to use safely.

Equipment Used:
Broom, vacuum, mop, chemicals, small tools ie. screwdriver/allen wrench, 2 way radios


Working Conditions:
Regular work hours are M – F, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. working on campus with a few interruptions throughout the day. This position also works every third weekend with rotating holidays and position is not expected to travel.

  • Position walks and stands for most of the day. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 25 lbs. Will need to move within hotel throughout the day to clean rooms. Frequent use elevator to clean multiple floors. Frequent bending over to clean rooms as well.
