**Part-Time Day Shift Available!**

The purpose of the laundry assistant is to meet the individual needs of the residents by maintaining clean bed linens, clean resident clothing / belongings, and other items throughout the community.

KEY POSITION SPECIFIC ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains a clean, organized and clutter free laundry area.
• Ensures that needed supplies in the department are adequately stocked for providing the highest quality of laundry services (ex. ensures proper use and stocking of detergents and other cleaning agents).

• Checks each piece of clothing for missing buttons, hems, stains, and tears – repairing items as appropriate.
  • Washes and dries (by hanging or the use of dryer) all resident personal clothing- this may involve sorting items by color, material, weight, etc.
  • Washes and dries (by hanging or the use of dryer) all other items needed in the community- such as bed linens, towels, rags, and table cloths.
  • Folds, irons and/or presses items as appropriate.
  • Tags / identifies residents clothing as direct by department process / procedure.
  • Follows department and community guidelines in regards to the handling of any special items.
  • Delivers clean items to resident rooms, storage closets, dining rooms, or other areas as appropriate.
  • Maintains all linen storage areas (including resident closets and drawers) in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Follows proper infection control protocol in all aspects of laundering duties- from collection to transportation of linens.
  • Follows proper safety procedures with all hazardous materials, chemicals, etc.- always seeks clarification from manager if unsure of proper processes, procedures, or if help is needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience
  • One to two (1-2) years of experience as a housekeeper, laundry assistant or equivalent position.
  • Experience in cleaning and maintaining sanitary environments.

• Availability & Attendance
  • Flexible work schedule (mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, holidays, etc.)
  • Follows all attendance policies and procedures, including proper timeclock usage.
