The Laundry Aide is responsible to ensure that all departments which use linen services, have an adequate supply of linen on hand to meet all the linen needs of that department.

Essential Functions

• Sort out certain items not to be sent to service.
• Line up carts for pick up and log the weight.
• Wash, dry, fold, and distribute items not sent to service.
• Pick up soiled linen in all areas, weigh and accurately record according to area.
• After laundry services deliver clean linen, sort and fold linen onto carts/shelves.
• Deliver covered clean linen to all areas of need. Fill orders of linen needs from request sheets.
• As needed, clean all areas of the linen area, sweep, mop, dust, clean carts, machines, etc.
• Keep all work areas picked up and in a neat orderly fashion.
• Input the linen order into the Control Tex computer.
• As directed, other duties as assigned.
• Works with any age of employees, customers, infants through geriatrics.
• Is constantly conscious of unsafe or potentially unsafe working conditions and makes every effort to correct or report those hazards to the proper person.
• Picks up residents personal laundry, wash, dry, fold, and put away.
• Demonstrates commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Contributes to organizational operations by performing other related duties as may be assigned.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

The hospital also operates a skilled nursing facility, Iroquois Resident Home, which is attached to the hospital property.
