Job description
The Lead HIM Analyst is responsible for providing decision and application support to three vital clerical areas: St. Catherine, CSRC and St. Mary Medical Center HIM, Document Processing Scanning and Indexing and Record Completions Units. The Lead Analyst will assist in planning staffing for each area, assigning work distribution, training and orientation of new employees and understanding of HIM Department Workflows. The Lead Analyst will trouble shoot any system issues for the OnBase or Epic systems. Assist Director with meetings, policies and procedures and other duties as assigned. Conducts ongoing Medical Record Audits and calculates statistical rates monthly.
Position primarily located at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, Indiana
To qualify you must have:
- High School graduate or equivalent is required. Associate Degree is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years working in HIM Department hospital or clinic setting required.
- Proficiency in using personal computers and Microsoft Office application required.
- Knowledge of statistical methodology is required to conduct quality audits.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction required.
- Ability to analyze data and find trends in audit.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks is essential.
- Must be able to travel between facilities when necessary.
