Job Description Summary

The GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) Lead Materials Planner is responsible for developing and executing the material planning and scheduling for GEH’s Services production value stream.

Additionally, you will work cross-functionally to facilitate the implementation and adoption of the material requirement planning (MRP) tool and develop the strategy for material planning according to sales inputs and lead times for the organization. This project will require deep integration with multiple functions including Information Technology (IT) and SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations) functions.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage master planning, material processes and systems for the services product lines. Prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs for GEH’s services production.
  • Ensure operational alignment with business production and delivery plan and key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Represent the Material Planning function in internal stakeholder meetings. Communicate business requirements, priorities, and risks parameters to proper stakeholders.
  • Use Lean principles to optimize material flow and drive material velocity for timely equipment and materials delivery, inventory turns and cash flow.
  • Optimize inventory and process improvements.
  • Use technical experience and analytical thinking to problem solve, determine root cause and propose countermeasures to improve performance on KPIs.
  • Promote a working environment that encourages teamwork to achieve excellence in compliance, safety, customer service, quality, and productivity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college; OR a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in material planning, sourcing, supplier quality or production control.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in supply chain (i.e. material planning, sourcing, logistics, manufacturing, quality or equivalent discipline).

Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability to operate computers.
  • Ability to come into work at GEH Wilmington, NC location.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with material planning, production control, manufacturing, or sourcing
  • Experience leading an MRP or ERP implementation project, specifically in the Oracle platform.
  • Experience with data analysis and analytics tools, including Tableau and Spotfire
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Suite and Oracle Enterprise Resources Planning System (ERP) systems.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
