Monrovia Memorial Hospital is currently hiring a Part Time Lead RN for our Surgery Department.

Summary of Major Essential Functions:

· Functions as a member of the surgical team. Assumes supervising responsibilities as a lead tech in the provision of surgical services and management of surgical operations, as necessary.

· Assist the Circulating Nurse in preparation of the surgical suite. Performs surgical scrub duties during surgical intervention and/or invasive procedures.

· Prepares the OR environment, supplies and equipment, and instrumentation following established policies and procedures. Is knowledgeable about instrument names and proper handling techniques.

· Maintains sterile field during the surgical intervention. Decontaminates, assembles, and sterilizes instruments. Assist with patient preparation, transport, and discharge from the OR environment.

Licenses/Certifications:

· Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.

· Current BLS certification.

· Current ACLS certification.

· Evidence of perioperative nursing training or equivalent experience preferred.

Skills/Qualifications:

· Clinical Skills, Bedside Manner, Infection Control, Nursing Skills, Physiological Knowledge, Administering Medication, Medical Teamwork, Multi-tasking, Listening, Verbal Communication,

· Minimum of Six (6) months’ experience working as a surgical nurse.

Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacology and the uses, dosages, side-effects, and methods of administration for commonly used surgery medications.
