Purpose: The Administrator, Systems is responsible for the support, design, development, implementation, delivery, and maintenance of company systems, to include the Donor Management System (DMS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and other related technologies.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop project plans, test cases, and manage creation of or update technical documents associated with the configuration of the Join Parachute LMS and other Systems applications.
- Manage community areas within the LMS including functionality, appearance, tabs, and settings.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for process and quality improvements, providing feedback on usage, defects, and suggested enhancements.
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of current technology as it applies to LMS software and systems.
- Maintain procedures and policies to ensure the security and integrity of systems/networks.
- Write and maintain technical procedures and policy documentation.
- May collaborate with the Learning and Development (L&D) and Training Departments on training content creation and updates to existing content in the LMS.
- Act as an internal consultant by analyzing data and recommending solutions to utilize the LMS to deliver, track training, and measure performance to meet organizational objectives.
- Create and update resources to train and support learners on how to use the technology for online learning and professional development.
User Management:
- Create user logins and assign user permissions as needed in coordination with IT.
- Create and manage user structures including the creation of user groups and learning cohorts.
- Manage course enrollment including progress tracking.
LMS Course Management:
- Publish and archive online or blended learning solutions, assign training curricula, and add and delete resources.
- Populate course information and assign learners.
- Develop and update standardized tools and reporting for ongoing access to learning information; generate standard and custom reports.
- Analyze reporting data and recommend strategic direction to L&D, Systems, or other stakeholders, as appropriate.
- Create and manage the overall course structure and set up course programs based on specifications from the Director of L&D.
- Manage tracking of course revisions and history.
- Build online course assessments and evaluations in LMS.
- Provide troubleshooting assistance to users regarding logging in to the LMS and accessing courses.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to system functionality and software systems.
- Review and monitor system performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to write and communicate technical information.
- Ability to understand complex problems and collaborate with others to explore alternative solutions.
- Technical skills including troubleshooting, and understanding of directory, file structures, and systems.
- Familiarity with course design and development.
- Working knowledge of multiple web design technologies, such as HTML.
- Ability to gain new technical skills quickly.
- Customer service skills, responsive attitude.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex technical concepts in layman’s terms.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment to refer decisions to management as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or High School Diploma plus a minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an LMS administrator or similar position.
- Coursework and/or certifications relating to learning management system administration preferred.
- Social media or knowledge management experience.
